It's not the most organized place to work. It's not big budget radio either even compared to the smaller budgeted bigger companies.
Guess it was the only place he could go. Hope they treat him better than the people I know who have worked at Salem...

I received an email from Kevin announcing the show, and even though the KRLA website currently says his show is for only 1 hour (9p to 10p), it is only 1 hour for the first 4 days (May 28-31). On Friday, June 1, Kevin picks up the second hour (9p to 11p). So right now it is a 2 hour show.

Kevin mentioned that it is his goal is to do a 3 hour show (9p to midnight), but it might take him a couple of months or so to get that third hour. Kevin is a GREAT GET for KRLA... I am glad it is a 2 hour show, and can't wait for him to get that third hour -- which I know Kevin can get! He was growing a HUGE audience at KABC, and the ones I know who listened to him there are anxious to follow him.

I hate to say this cuz Kevin is a nice guy, but his show revolves around one thing and one thing only...Illegal Immigration. It sounds current when there actually something going on, like some kind of rally or a law proposal. But when theres nothing going on, he really sounds boring...unfortunetly he's a one trick pony.

Big E- Kevin is focusing on illegal immigration and open border issues BECAUSE IT'S THE MOST CRITICAL ISSUE TO OUR NATION TODAY!

If this Amensty Abomination passes, our nation will never be the same. We will get one step closer to the North American Union and a loss of national sovereignty. Our city resources will be even more overwhelmed, the road more clogged, schools more of a failure, more hospitals will fail, our prisons will be so overcrowded they will have no option but to do more early releases, our taxes will go up and eventually Spanish will be the official language.

What do you think Kevin SHOULD be talking about given this reality? Something important like who Brittany Spears is sleeping with? Or maybe you'd rather hear about American Idol? Try using your brain a little.

Big E:

I agree with Joyce. You should listen to Kevin more often. I listen regularly and one of the reasons I do so is because he DOES cover other issues, although sometimes in the context of illegal immigration (if they can't be separated -- like education, hospitals, prisons). He covers topics as broad as sports (especially college football - he loves Oklahoma), the Presidential election (he doesn't like Rudy), the Governor (he says the Governor is stupid), the mainstream media bias, Iraq, the war on terror (he says he is on the terror watch list), foreign policy, Legal cases (he was right about the Michael Jackson case), local crime (he actually predicted the surge in gang violence and was the only guy talking about it until the LA Times started to cover it), City Hall, Mahoney, remember his coverage of all of those initiative proposals on the ballot....need I continue?

Ross and Joyce: Where in my post did I say that Illegal Immigration was'nt an important issue. I was merely stating a fact about his show topics, having listened to his shows, during his reg shift, and when he did fill-ins (more than you two, and thats all I can say) Even when there was something going on that day, somehow he spins it back to illegal immigration. All other hosts talk about it when it is relevant to day to day happenings. Kevin will talk about it on a DAILY basis, and thats not an exageration. It might not be his big topic of the day, but he will eventually float back to it somehow. Like I said in my original post, Kevin is a real nice guy, and unfortunetly, his show needs help. And Joyce, you dont know me and I dont know you, so please stop with the "try using your brain", this place is all about opinions, and this just happens to be mine, live with it!

I listened to him last night. At least he isn't saying the calls and "red-eye radio" every other minute as he did at KABC. He still needs to learn how to control his callers. He lets them ramble on too much. His first half -hour was devoted to illegal immigation but not the second half. That's a fair balance given the amnesty bill is in the Senate currently.
