Kevin James owned by Chris Matthews

Kevin... here's a tip... next time you get cornered like that, just move your lips without allowing any sound to come out of your mouth. Then cut in an out intermittenly. It'll sound something like this: "Chris... I do be- .... Chamberl-... caus- reall- stand... so tha-...."

If that fails... clutch your chest and throw yourself backwards like your having a massive coronary... Anything would be better than your performance here. Wow dude! You got owned!!! HAHAHAHAHA!

Simply brutal. Kevin is not in Chris Matthews' league. Probably will never be.

Sometimes Chris Matthews irritates the hell out of me, but when he gets it right, he nails it. And he nailed Kevin.

And no one should ever assume Chris Matthews is stupid. You never know when he's going to pounce, but when he does, you're toast.

How friggin' embarrassing. It would have been funny (and it was) if it wasn't so sad, like watching a lamb go to slaughter. Kevin James as Stuttering John. After laughing for a few minutes, I felt sorry for the poor bastard. Pants'd and whipped on national TV.

Sadly, this is just the tip of the iceberg. There's a whole slew of talking point parrots out there on both sides of the aisle. The wingnuts just seem to have more of them.

It's not so much that Chris Matthews is smart (he is), but more that James (and so many others in his club) revealed himself to be dumber that a bag of hammers. The slam dunk was Matthews saying, "I'm working with a blank slate here..." at the end of the segment. Oy!

Next time Kevin, rather than reading the talking points that the RNC emails to you, spend some time reading a history book. Hell, at least do some show prep and log on to the History Channel website or Wikipedia.

Better yet, you might have paid attention in 9th grade history class when Mrs. Carmano was teaching that chapter.

What's truly sad? Because most gasbag talk show hosts like James have no sense of shame, more than likely they aren't embarrassed at all. I'm sure James will spin it like, "Matthews blindsided me... then he turned my mic off."

As Bugs once said, "What a maroon!"

The scary thing is...

The scary thing is the many, many people out there in radio land believe EVERY WORD that Kevin "junior" James says on the radio, because he's young and good looking and "They don't lie on the radio-right?".

Even more scary is that it's (now) very obvious that HE takes every item handed to him by the Republican trolls without question-and then puts it on the radio.

James didn't have a CLUE about what happened in 1939 with Hitler and "an American Senator" -so he decided to try outshouting the ones that (obviously) did.

While junior was having his melt down, did you hear the Air America guy ask Chris Matthews if he wanted him to explain what happened in 1939?

But then again, junior's obviously a Rush Limbaugh clone and learned it from the "master" of spin himself!

Remember, this is someone that goes on the radio every day and purposts to be an "expert".....and many people take him at his word.

He should be summarily fired.

Re: The scary thing is...

I would venture to guess that his days as credible political tv guest are done.

As if he had any cred' in the first place. Flash to vision after the Matthews episode... dozens of TV-Radio producers ripping this guy's card out of their Rolodex files.

The scary thing is this is just one of many "lunatic fringe" hosts like Limbaugh, Hannity, Laura Ingraham, Mark Levin, etc. doing this same exact thing every day...and all the "ditto heads" take it as fact.

Maybe true. But at least those mentioned have some sense of how to handle themselves in the media.
None of those you've cited would fumble a television appearance as embarassingly as James did,
whether you buy into their rhetoric or not.

Thats beside the point, I was commenting on the fact that all these individuals do the same thing...to your point however, perhaps they know their history better.

Ouch! The truth stings a bit, eh bub?

By the way, many of the lunatic fringe hosts aren't that sharp and would've met a likely fate at the hands of a Chris Matthews. The difference is most never allow themselves to be in James's position. I see Hannity cornered all the time, as he really doesn't have the wits to debate with a level playing field. Typically, he either ignores the points he can't handle, shouts over the person, or changes the subject/invokes Clinton, Kennedy, etc/or ends the segment.

I wish more of these paper tiger hosts would allow themselves to be skewered the way James did. It would be a public service, since it would demonstrate these guys have no real interest in being fair or factual.

There's a great Hannity episode from (more than) a few years back where he taunts Mario Cumo to come in and debate him. A few days later, Cuomo took Hannity up on the debate invitation and tossed Sean around like a cat playing with a wounded mouse. It wasn't as dreadful as Kevin James v. Matthews, but embarrassing (for Hannity) nonetheless. Days later, after the sting and embarrassment wore off or he recovered from the shame or the beatin', Hannity was on the air bragging about how he held the former governor's feet to the fire, playing edited, truncated soundbites from the "debate." Any sane person who heard the original show knew that Cuomo took Hannity to school... if not the woodshed. The sycophant callers were properly injected, all too eager to tell Sean what a great job he did "on the governor." These guys live in their own little world.

Kevin James couldn't stand up to Larry King. He's just a loud blustering fool, where's Wally George when we need him? Too bad he's not still with us, at least he was amusing at times.

Of course...any one of these blow hards would crumble if they put themselves in the position James was in.

Dearest Lord, where do I begin.

Say with the length and the breadth of the embarrassment KJ gave to convervatives, the Republican Party, KRLA, Salem, and talk radio in general...

Oh they are still talking about it in Canada, where they are happily saying "neener neener neener, eh" to all this. Try Jonathan Kay's take in the National Post (http://network.nationalpost.com/np/blogs/fullcomment/archive/2008/05/16/170523.aspx). Or John Moore in the same paper (http://network.nationalpost.com/np/...f-talk-radio-talking-themselves-to-death.aspx).

Ouch.

How bad was it? I'm looking through NewsMax.....nothing. He has no defenders anywhere.

My question is how long will he last at 'RLA? With higher quality conservatives out there (Boortz and Beck come to mind), there really is no reason to keep this dead weight around.

We'll see.

We all know that James is a lightweight. However what is also evident is the intellectual dishonesty played here by many posters. In other words, oh a conservative getting served up by Matthews some how means all or most conservatives would meet the same fate. That would be very unlikely. I would love to see a debate
between Matthews and Neal Boortz for instance. Good chance it would be Matthews who would be served up.
Better yet, Lee Rodgers from KSFO would fare well against any liberal commentator. That said liberals are as successful in talk, but can you imagine the verbal beating any of the current or former Air America trolls would be in for by any number of conservative commentators?.

In an intellectual discourse, Neal Boortz, Dennis Prager or Glenn Beck would top Chris Matthews. In a shouting match Rush Limbaugh would be the victor. I'd like to see John and Ken take on Matthews and O'Reilly in a tag team match. Now that would be a pay per view event, if ever there was one.
