Kevin Jolly is now at WROC-TV channel 8, that poor sole. I was watching TV and about to change it to channel 13 for the 5:00 PM news and then they threw it to "Kevin Jolly in the newsroom" and it caught my attention. He was formerly at WHEC-TV Channel 10. Once again, that poor sole.

they need some testosterone over there since Levine left... Not that McKinley didn't fit the bill, just need a bit more. But him ??

I always thought he was a little slllllloooooowww in the speaking department. Especially to keep up with Hetsko, Doran and Mo when they get going...

We'll see won't we.

Well at least the guy found a job after months of being unemployed. And as someone who twice went through that ordeal during my broadcasting career all I can say is I wish the man well at his new gig. Channel 8 might not be the best place to work...but it's still a paycheck.

Even even poorer "soul" I suppose...unless they end up walking all over him. Then he'd be a poor sole.

Are we sure about that? ;D

What I was told from someone who works at 8 is that Jolly isn't even a full-time employee.

The way it was explained to me is that if Jolly has a story idea he calls and pitches it to the News Director. If the ND approves then Jolly goes out, does the story and gets paid.

I guess one would classify that as a call-in job.

NO!!!!! Really?!? OMG. How cheap is that?!

Anybody out there -- at 8 -- who can verify this? C'mon, that place has hit a new low. How much you want to bet they don't fill Orosz's or Chandler's jobs for the rest of the year?

Why should they? After all 8 has Doran and McGuire rotating every other week between anchoring duties and going into the field to report on stories.

Can you imagine for just one moment WHAM TV approaching Alhart and Ryan and telling them they would have to fill-in as reporters every other week while the other one handles the anchor chair? Same goes with Funke and Lomax at 10.

I was real disappointed with Channel 10 for letting him go. It seems like they let black males go with no problem, Kendis Gibson, Richard McCullough and now Kevin Jolly. But I 'm glad Mr. Jolly remained in the Rochester market and found another job, no less than Channel 8.
