Kevin Miller O-U-T @ supertalk 99.7

Finally, I have found this site to see that Kevin Miller didn't die! The radio offerings in Nashville are going down the tubes. First there was no oldies station, then there was an oldies station, then there isn't an oldies station. So, I find talk radio to make my drive a little more enjoyable. Then all of a sudden it disappears. I have now resorted to Ipod, books on tape and XM. Is there any way to come down on the advertisers and get the message to Cumulus and others that we are disgusted?

I've lived in Nashville for 10 years and have thoroughly enjoyed the talk radio here. Phil Valentine and Steve Gill are consistently strong performers. Kevin Miller was an absolute joke though. I felt like his emotion with callers was contrived and he seemed to be very arrogant and condescending with other on air talent. I have to say though, anything would be in improvement over their morning news guy. He is an absolute idiot. I won't be listening to some yahoo from Spartanburg, SC. Geez.

I can't comment on whethr or not he is an "idiot" as you say, but I do know he has been gainfully employed in major and large markets for 40 years. And how you doin'?

Not much of a talk radio fan, but I did find it interesting that Robert_Nashville thought Miller, "was at least somewhat entertaining and seemed 'genuine' ” and 46radiofan "felt like his emotion with callers was contrived and he seemed to be very arrogant and condescending with other on air talent." With that said, it makes one wonder if they were listening to the same guy. However, what is more curious to me is that 46radiofan thinks Gill and Valentine are strong performers if "arrogant and condescending" aren't necessarily a good thing for talk radio hosts. It's Gill's and Valentine's arrogant attitudes that make me tune out talk. I really miss Les Jamison.

I suppose I shouldn’t be surprised that a station’s owners/management doesn’t care what its listeners think (although I can’t help but wonder how they are going to get ad revenue if they keep pissing-off the people who would listen to them???).

About 90% of my radio now comes form XM...Nashville stations have little or nothing to offer at this point…it makes me wonder how long it will be before all radio is “national”.

As to what people thought of Kevin Miller; I’m sure almost everyone who listened has a different opinion; is that really so unusual??? After all, he wasn’t really on WWTN long enough for anyone to really know if he was genuine or contrived…maybe I’m just willing to take people at face value until they prove themselves to be something other than they portray themselves to be.

Ralph isn't "from" Spartanburg and he's anything but a yahoo. The market, by the way is about 825,000 people so while it's not a major market, it's also not Podunk. People who don't like him think he's too much of a brainiac. I'm not sure Nashville is going to take to him.

Dave Ramsey, the little local person
people used to laugh at for bring unpolished is to be praised for such a long, successful ride.

Dave Ramsey's the man. How about Steve Bryant? He's living in Nashville now.

Well, chick..I have to admit that I have become very fond of Ralph since he's been in Nashville. I actually talk to him quite frequently and he has found a comfortable spot in Nashville. I humbly retract my statement.
