Kevin Newman to leave Global National 8/20

How many of you are betting we might hear the words "CTV National News with Kevin Newman" once Lloyd Robertson finally retires?

I honestly don't know. As good as that may seem as a possibility, it's also upset by the reality of doing things cheaper and cheaper all around.

CTV might not be willing to pay for a "name" to attach to CTV news when Mr. Robertson retires.
They'll most likely rotate bodies for a while first.
(strictly a guess, respectfully.)

Now that there is an official post-retirement replacement for Lloyd on CTV, has anyone heard of Kevin's next move?

I have a soft spot in my TV-watching heart for him after his time at ABC's World News Now.

With Kevin Newman now gone and Lloyd Robertson calling it a career next year, that means we'll only have one senior face of TV news left in North America: Peter Mansbridge!

Ah, but Canada's TAXES are feeding aspects of his employment!
So really, if the CBC were to be 100% profit driven from ad revenue, I doubt he'd still be employed.

CBC TV would most likely have found someone younger and cheaper long ago!

I should clarify that Peter Mansbridge will be the only senior face of network TV news left in North America after Lloyd steps down next year.

Dave Ward of KTRK in Houston has been around the longest here in general (43 years now).
