KEYH 850

As I live near the five tower array of KEYH, I have watched as the lights go out on the towers over the last three months. Only three of the towers are lit and tower #3 only has one light on. At least it's the beacon on the top. Since it is close to Hull Airport, I hope they don't wait until all of the lights are out to replace them.

Tower Lights

Since it has five towers, I do not know which one is tower#1 or tower #5. Now, one of those beacons are not flashing. It may not be the case now, but I visited the site two weeks ago and it was in need of mowing.

Speaking of which, I wonder what the status of the Liberman bankruptcy proceedings is right now? David Eduardo?

No idea! I have not heard anything new in several months.

This morning at 2:35AM, as I left for work, I saw that all towers are properly lit. Somebody got the message.

As a somewhat related side-note, I heard KEYH simulcast sister station KNTE 101.7 In Laramie, Wyoming... 1010 miles away about 3 weeks ago

My reception starts off with the tail end of a commercial, then there's a commercial that I think mentions "IBEW". The signal fades out after about 30 seconds but just after 2 minutes and 40 seconds, the signal starts to fade back in and eventually becomes fairly clear and strong.

What I heard over several minutes was play by play action between the Houston Astros and Oakland Athletics baseball teams. The signal fades out and gets a little noisy/weak over the next few minutes but at times gets crystal clear

Fast forward to 2 minutes 40 seconds for the best part of the reception.

KNTE FM 101.7 is in Bay City at 35KW = Nice catch in Laramie! That's true tropospheric ducting, unlike posts that say they got a Dallas or San Antonio station in Houston, which is due to temporary inversion conditions.

On FM, I used to get KC Royals baseball games and El Paso Concert ads - in northeast Indiana -- and received TV Channel 2 KTWO Casper, Wyoming - in Ohio (back before all the low-VHF signals were moved up to UHF).

I've also heard KUHF 88.7 from both Laramie and NW PA near Erie.... and while KUHF's HD Carrier flashed in PA, it never locked.. I heard KUHF once here in Laramie and the HD briefly locked

I also had KTBZ 94.5 HD2 lock in NW PA, 1 1/2 mile from a 250 Watt 700 ft translator on 94.5
