KEYN-AM/FM Wichita, 1972 "Mix Tape"

I got chased off here a couple years ago, but I wanted to share this with some old Kansas Radio fans.

Here's a dub of a BASF reel-to-reel tape (preserved nicely in a hard plastic box) that I discovered at the then-DAV Thrift Store @ Douglas & West in Wichita KS in 1987. It's basically someones "mix tape" of songs from KEYN-AM/FM "Stereo Quad" from 1972 with some liners, jingles and DJ talk.

It's a direct dub with bad "pause button" edits and some dropouts here and there. But it gives a decent listen of how "The Rock of Wichita" sounded like 40 years ago. If anyone has any info on the DJ's and what part of the year it might have been recorded please reply. BTW it sounds better if you download it and play it with Winamp than using the flash player.

Enjoy!

Doug Shane circa 1972, also Clark Bevin on a phone-in remote from Summerset Apartments at 21st and Woodlawn.
I think the imaging was "Old Weird Dave" Biondi.
BC has posted on YouTube "The Ballad of Doug Shane" also from 1972.

Thanks for sharing the find!
