Keystone Cops Take Over WIOD 12a-1a on April 9th

Perhaps an April Fool's day joke 9 days late?

From midnight until 1am, I listened to 10 minutes of dead air, followed by a traffic report, followed by 10 minutes of dead air, followed by a traffic report, followed by "Fox News 30 on 30 in 3 minutes," "Fox News 30 on 30 in 2 minutes," a test tone, Fox News on the 30, more dead air, a traffic report, more dead air and then somehow, miraculously, normal programming resuming at 1am.

This is what, the #12 market? And we have to put up with this crap constantly?????

You are a dream listener, 10 minutes of dead air and you stuck with them? I had a guy like you in a focus group one time: he was a P1 for the NPR station.

Your Captain

Hahahaha..... I work in the industry. ;)

That's what happens when there is probably one person in the entire building making $8.00/hour monitoring 7 stations.

I was told by a CC employee in a different market that the kids they hire don't always react to dead air like us old timers do. I guess the lack the reflex? ???

1 second dead air was a reprimand, 2 seconds was a firing offense. The good old days.
