Keystone--KBS?

Going through old radio guides of the 50s and 60s I found a lot of stations belong to the Keystone Broadcasting System network. Now I have heard of both Liberty and Progressive, but I have not heard of Keystone before. What happened to it? How long did it last?

As far as I have ever read, Keystone was an ad agency masquerading as a "network" Perhaps they syndicated some transcribed music shows from time to time, but I think they were basically in the ad sales business. If you look at their promo ads in the Radio-TV Annual books or Broadcasting Yearbook, you can kind of deduce that as their is NO mention of programming as we know it, only ad sales.

Keystone was in fact a station representative located in Chicago. My Indiana stations received many buys from them in the 50's and 60's.
