Tough call. 1 November is on Thursday. They might wait until Monday 5 November to start the week fresh. But that's four good missed days of Christmas ratings. So will they pull the trigger on 29 October? Yuck!

Quick check: according to the boards in 2006 they started after All-Hallow-Even which fell on a Wednesday. Nuff said.
:-X

I really hate Christmas

And the music the most.

Which is why I take my extended vacation to a non christmas country in late November.

Even more strange: KEZ still hasn't switched to Christmas holiday music.

Without the threat of a competitor going all HO-HO-HO, KEZ is waiting til either Thanksgiving or the week of Thanksgiving to give us the All Andy Williams format. Guess we'll have to monitor Kay Oh Why to see if they beat KEZ to it!

At 8:30 this morning, it happened...at long last, KESZ Phoenix is All Christmas, er Holiday, All the time. Gov. Napolitano was on and pulled the lever that spread Christmas, er Holiday, cheer across the valley. Truly a priceless moment in the history of the world...

And what a nice gesture it was for KEZ to give Nappy Jane-O the Governor a bottle of Old Spice aftershave lotion. ;D

And they've shifted the "Great Soft Rock" to 99.9 HD2 for the time being, knocking off "Lilith Fair Radio"...I mean "Sirens."

If there are dental offices and hair salons in town that will miss the light pop for the next 1.5 months, they can go and plunge $200 at Best Buy for a new radio! ;D

Re: KESZ CHRISTMAS

Good news / bad news. CDK remembered 99.9's assigned call letters and doesn't buy into their "corporate call" thing. The bad news -- Legend City is anti-Christmas.
Mores the pity!

Just call me Noel Coward.

I'm off to Vietnam tomorrow, no Christmas garbage there!

I tuned into KEZ yesterday afternoon and heard regular music. Checked again right before I posted. Drove to work at 6:00 with normal music. Went to run an errand at 10:00 and heard Silent Night. At first I thought I was crazy. They flipped at 8:30? Why on 15 November at 8:30?

I was listening to the Nearly Bald One at the time, and he did a live cut in. But he was wondering the same thing...of course, what doesn't he wonder about?

My wife LOVES KEsZ's Christmas music and was thrilled to find out that nappyJane-O The Guvenator helped pulled the switch this week. In fact, she drove my car yesterday and purposely left the radio tuned to KEsZ. Needless to say, I will be sanitizing the interior of my car on Saturday and flushing my speakers with a heavy dose of KUPD. ;D

I just wish I knew how to make sure 99.9 never shows up on my dial again. Hmmm.... :-\

So, I'm just curious...what's it like playing back-to-back-to-back-to-back "holiday music" for nearly one fourth of the year??

And how many times, on average, does a fulltime on-air person at KEZ have to sit through "simply having a wonderful Christmas time" from Paul McCartney, each season?

As I said.....just curious.

KEZ plays Christmas music for 3 months? That's too much.

Just curious - Why the sudden detour from your fascination with the formerly-hairless-one Austin Hill?
