KFAI's HD Radio

I've just noticed that 90.3 KFAI/Minneapolis is back on HD Radio. I've had my HD Radio since 2017 and KFAI wasn't in HD then, But in April of 2018, KFAI began broadcasting in HD. The HD signal was very short-lived (April-June 2018) and never heard KFAI in HD again until today. Wikipedia states KFAI has been licensed to use HD since 2008. What's the deal here? Why were they off HD for so long and will they continue day-to-day HD operations?
