KFCD Format Change?

In the first paragraph of a press release copied below, FC Dallas announced that KFCD is changing formats and will be broadcasting in Spanish. As of 4:30 P.M. this afternoon, the station was still broadcasting the same Talk America programing it has been since it went bankrupt.

Can anyone here confirm a format change or is FC Dallas just buying time and then running games in Spanish?

FRISCO, Texas - FC Dallas announced today that for the second consecutive season, all 32 regular season games will be broadcast on both Spanish and English radio. KFCD 990 AM, which carried FCD games in English in 2005, today switched formats and will now be the Spanish Radio partner for the Hoops in 2006. KXEB 910 AM, part of the Air America network, begins their first season broadcasting FC Dallas games in English. All games can be listened to live on radio and on www.FCDallas.net.

KFCD Format Change? Hmmm ... they (990) don't seem to be on the air this morning ...

No pgm material, no carrier, no nothing as of 7:30 AM

Also, don't know if this is related but ...

I got tired of hearing their 'splatter' on WBAP's signal
so I 'filed' a little something in an effort to get the
situation resolved (they have had PLENTY of time IMO to
get it resolved on their own) ...

Update: 990 back on air, usual format with ...

... with no trace of the 'anomoly' they were spraying the AM band
with since about Christmas.

For those who haven't followed this or are tuning in late,
990 AM KFCD has had a 'spectrum' problem since at least
Christmas last year, and had spurious energy coming out of
their transmitter at between 836 (noted back around Chistmas)
and 840 KHz (noted recently) as well as points above their
carrier frequency at about 1140 KHz (recently).

These 'products' were about +-150 KHz from the main carrier and
would 'FM' or 'spread' out from that nominal +-150 KHz point with
the appearance of program material on 990 and would sound like
'splatter' or 'scratch' on other broadcast stations occupying the
band.

Nothing is detectable coming from 990 on 835 KHz this morning (just
checked moments ago). Contrast this with the stations Jack Selmeyer
has been involved with (notably 620 and 770) - with some noticable
bleed-over occuring above and below the assigned spectrum slots.

AB randrewsIII - that date you wanted is ...

... 11-23-2005, the date when the 'scratch' became most
noticeable from 990 KFHCD.

I went back and reviewed the tapes, seeings how it had been
resolved now.

Specifically, make the span of those emmissions from
11-23-2006 through 03-30-2006 based on material I
have on hand and can review.

Four months and a week I make it.
