The way I see the Ticket, if you want sports in some specified time frame, let's say the 25 minute drive home from work, you may not get it. But if you listen for an hour or 2, you'll probably hear the couple of big stories of that day.
And I agree with txchipk...if you're relying on callers, and the callers don't 'have a take', you've got a recipe for ratings disaster...
And here's a question (s) for everybody that complains about the Ticket not being sportsy enough...How much do you listen, have you listened to other sports stations around the country, and most importantly if they were to go "all sports" and started talking about sports or teams you had no interest in, how likely would you be to bail out for an alternative?
I used to listen a lot to Cooperstein when he was on KTCK. But he'd interview the offenisve line coach from SMU, or the defensive coordinator from TCU, I'd be tuning out...I don't really care about college football, and not that I necessarily care about Corby's drinking habits or Craig Millers dating exploits, but then I don't really care about RUss Martins personal life, but if it's presented in an entertaining way, I'll find myself listening...
