Would someone be kind enough as to give me some info on what's going on at KFDM in Beaumont? Their website is down, and I saw a story yesterday saying they were off the air. Any updates? Can I find a live stream of KFDM anywhere? Thanks.

A report on KHOU Friday night indicated KFDM went off the air Friday; they were interviewing one of the KFDM reporters. Apparently, according to the report, KFDM was the last one on as KBTV 4 and KBMT 12 had gone off prior to that. KBTV's website yesterday indicated their folks were relocating to sister KTAL-TV 6 Texarkana/Shreveport.

Speaking of websites, why has KBMT (and co-owned KIII 3 Corpus Christi) never set up a website? Even KPLC in Lake Charles was streaming coverage from some sort make-shift studio to provide information for any displaced viewers seeking local information...

Easy answer: McKinnon Broadcasting is cheap. They also own KUSI-51 (Cable 9) in San Diego and do not have a full website for that station either (and its a major market).

KBTV patched in Shreveport's feed and the NBC network feed then left! with a crawl at the bottom of the screen that was out of date quickly. Thursday night before Rita, it was black screen until 10:30 and then Jay Leno?!?! KFDM kept on as long as they could....even VP/General Manager Larry Beaulieu was working a camera at times!! (That's teamwork!!) They showed class...but then 6 always has.

Look at who owns the two stations...McKinnon...who is one of the cheapest operators...KBMT doesnt even have email as far as I know!

Out of curiosity, what did the out-of-date crawl say? Also, during the time the news was supposed to be on, did any slates for Leno appear before showtime?

Since KBTV had the capability to bring in Shreveport, they should've stuck with it instead of sticking with the network feed -- when the national feed goes to local break or programming, it doesn't look good when all that's there is a blank screen.
