KFI #1 Again

It had to have pained the LA Times to print that story. For all the drive-by hit pieces the LA Times have printed to spur disdain for KFI over the years, ultimately they are all for naught. People are listening. Apparently a lot of people are listening despite the LA Times' past efforts to deflect it.

KFI is on an absolute roll lately. It just goes to show that live and local brings in the earholes and Sixty-Four KFI is reaping the benefits from it.

Wow, in 2011, an AM in the #1 spot---in El Lay, yet!

I don't follow ratings all over the USA, but does anyone have an idea the last time a top-50-market AM was #1 prior to this?

WBBM's been number one in Chicago from the beginning of the PPMs, even before it started an FM simulcast in August.

They can have good ratings and no real sponsors (i e Glenn Beck) but I doubt it. Most talk radio sponsors or not Fortune 500 companies nowadays. Beds, sex pills, gold, payday loans, car dealers, electric fences, etc. Maybe John and Ken should market a product like Tea? They could call it J & K Tea for Two.

WTMJ-AM is not only #1 in Milwaukee, it was the highest rated station of any PPM market in September.

With a gold sponsor like Cunning Dental, that is not necessary.

I still think the story in the post-PPM LA ratings world are the combined shares for the CHR stations (KIIS, KAMP and KPWR)- who pull a 13.1 in what is visible to the public- and I imagine even more solid numbers within their demo.

A report earlier this year said KFI had the 4th highest billing in the country for 2010, at $46 million.

I think they get the last laugh.

Those sponsers products are high profit (gold coins) or low overhead or both, so there is a lot of room for marketing. If J & K were tried for hate crimes in the Hague, their ratings and sponsers would go up. They can not be stopped, unless they start being nice to people.
