KFI: Major Announcement At Noon Today (Dec. 12)

I guess it was tongue-in-cheek.

When John and Ken announced Terri-Rae was leaving, they teased, "We have a major announcement about the format of this show..."

So, with Chris Lane returning to work (after filling in for T-Rae), Bill thought it would be funny to do a similar tease to announce Chris was returning.

Clearly it backfired, with Chris emailing the show's producer this morning to ask "what the what" was going on, since she thought she might've just been fired. And, of course, our rumorings here of FM and the Dodgers, although I doubt anyone from KFI actually read this thread.
 
As we celebrate the 6 year anniversary of Bill Handel getting Jamie White fired for his profanity-filled outburst on KYSR, I suppose it would seem fitting that KFI-FM would knock 98.7 off the air.
 
No real announcement. It was a stunt by Bill Carroll. He "announced" that Chris Lane was still on news on his show...
 
I dunno if Shannon can fully fit into T-Rae's shoes with J&K. I'd rather Chris Lane have moved over. I've noticed the female voice of reason is missing since T. has left. Shannon is a known news scooper out in the field like Eric Leonard and Steve Gregory.

To be quite honest, I've always had a hard time differentiating Chris Lane and T-Rae apart. At least during the news hits they do sound very much alike.

I can hear Shannon fitting in more with Carroll than with J&K and I can hear Chris Lane as a better fit for the afternoon drive boys.

What say you?
 
What happens when there is a major announcement? The Station that cried wolf, will not get any attention.
 
Stop the presses!

This morning, I bought a cinnamon roll from the donut shop on the corner. If you look carefully, turn your neck to the right, and squint really hard; the brown sugary swirls on the dough seem to spell out “KFI-FM.” This is a sure sign from the heavens that KFI will be simulcasting on FM very soon!

I agree. But I must say Shannon sounds younger. I'm in my late-20s and Chris Lane and T-Rae seem to talk to "my parents." For that matter, so do J&K. For some reason, Shannon seems to talk to "me" (even though she may not be terribly younger than the other two). Maybe Chris and Robin picked Shannon to fill T-Rae's shoes because she appeals to younger demos?

That Chris Lane was returning as news anchor/co-host to Bill Carroll's show after subbing for a couple days on John and Ken.
