KFIL 106.3, KGGK 94.3

I never got a chance to hear KFIL but I remember when it became KYMS in either 1965 or 1966 it was MOR. Jerry Longdon who later went on to KLOS was a jock there. They had studios in the Saddleback Inn in Santa Ana. It went CHR in '68-69. I did weekends there during that era. Latter it went AOR, then contemp. Christian.

When KYMS went AOR, they, like many other stations, published a tune sheet, or survey, of their then-current playlist. It was called the hitlist, but with the space in between the call letters and the name removed, it came out as:

KYMShitlist

Hey tj,

as long as you are using the board to research your book on LA radio history, make sure you cut the contributing board members a cut of the gross. It's only fair.

As a very young radio fan in the early 60s I used to try to persuade my dad to park directly under KGGK's tower in the Orange County Plaza parking lot whenever we shopped there ( he didn't really like to do that.)
