KFI's NEW STICK

Apparently a BE 50 is being installed on the center tower of the old Montecitos KRKD array where KFI will broadcast from while the new tower is bing built.
 
Most of the opposition problems could have been avoided had Clear Channel immediately started rebuilding the tower.
They should have started as soon as the FAA investigation was complete. They could've had a new tower up before
anyone even had the chance to whine about it. The tower and airport had co-existed for more than 50 years without
a problem. The FCC says they can re-build and I believe the FAA has signed-off on new construction as well.
Seems to me that KFI has every right to re-build, plus they've agreed to put up a tower that's almost 100 feet lower and
add daytime strobes. City councils all over are stopping tower construction lately. Pretty soon you won't be able to build
a tower anywhere...
