KFMF 93.3

You know there isn;t much history about KTCL's past when it first sighed on back in 1965 at all.. I am guessing for the time erra in 1965 that it played music that was in 1965 until 1975 when it went to a more moden Rock format and as I was told on another board it wasn't always at the old sight either (Prospect and College Ave) it was on Riverside where it started in a warehouse.
Btw when asking a question about the history of a station (for future reference) please make sure you know the right position on the FM Dial since so far you made 2 mistakes. It's no big deal but just so you know for next time.

WRIKER...Please check the old Broadcasting Yearbooks on American Radio History's website from the early 70s...KADX-FM was on 105.1. KMIR-AM 990 did NOT morph into KMJI, KXLT, KIMN...that was the sister FM on 100.3. Same goes for you, when answering a question about the history of a station (for future reference) please make sure YOU know the right position on the FM dial since so far YOU made 2 mistakes!

t.j....KFMF-FM began as KZIX-FM and was the sister station of KZIX 600 AM Ft. Collins during the construction permit process. Little is known on the FM call change, but looking at the 1967 Yearbook, 93.3 was owned by Horsetooth Broadcasting while 600 was owned by Poudre Valley Broadcasting, therefore, the KFMF calls. As WRIKER correctly stated earlier, little is known on the format, but it is not impossible to research. Just dig through www.americanradiohistory.com and troll through all the yearbooks, old Broadcasting magazines and such and you should be able to get a satisfactory, and accurate answer to your question.

Actually I wasn't wrong at all.. I had no idea that site even existed.. Like most people we GOOGLE it and search the web for the answers and that site never even showed up in the search at all. There for the only good site that did show up was Wikipedia and that is where i got my answers all the time. If you go there and look up KADX it well tell you that it was on 92.1 not 105.1 and the same goes for KTCL.
So no I wasn't wrong at all.

Look at the 1971 Broadcasting Yearbook...under Denver CO there states: KADX (FM) 105.1 mhz. I believe that more that you or Google or Wikipedia!

An addendum...Wikipedia I would NEVER trust as a sole source of information. That is why, as a responsible person, you should also do your homework and do some cross-referencing from different RELIABLE sources. Wikipedia is compiled by a bunch of people who MAY or MAY NOT know what they are posting about. Knowledge is power...the internet can give you that, but you have to know where to seek the CORRECT knowledge. I am not like MOST people...Google and other publicly-submitted websites are good at times as a reference, they are NEVER to be considered the ultimate authority for information. Hate to tell ya, but before you tell me I am wrong, do your homework!

And back then, 100.3 & 105.1 were rival stations. Duopolies didn't exist back then. That's your mistake. Also KMIR-AM 990 (Now KRKS-AM 990) didn't morph into ANYTHING - Yet. Mistake #2

And as I indicated above, you made two mistakes yourself.

Seems like everyone here needs to do a little homework.....

Cheers :D
