KFMX Playlist

I've been tuned into KFMX and something sounds different. Is it just me or am I hearing less classic rock than I used to on FMX? I still hear classic rock on 94.5 from time to time but less often. To me it sounds much better than it did before. It reminds me of KEGL 97.1 The Eagle in Dallas!

I think at this point you have to say The Eagle in Dallas sounds like FMX since the Eagle came back on sounding just like them.

Having heard THE EAGLE here and there and looking at the playlist here and there as well. You are correct sir! However, FMX is 100 times better. Simply becuz THE EAGLE is spinning stuff like...ERASURE etc... That is absolutely so freaking random. It just does not make sense.

When did you hear Erasure??? And what's the "etc." you are talking about?

As for WHEN did I hear ERASURE.... It was toward the last part of Dec. when I was in town. I remember hearing it... thinking that I had the wrong station. I double checked and.... YEP.... it was the EAGLE.

That would've have been a result of a wrong "cart number," not the result of random programming. When you have a cluster of stations (and a variety of formats) in the same building, stuff like that can happen. Especially, when a station is on auto-pilot (i.e. - KEGL in December). I assure you, The Eagle ain't playin' Erasure. In fact, I think FMX is more random than The Eagle...and that ain't necessarily a bad thing.

I would hope that was the case. However, I will be honest. When I heard that... it got me worried. I want THE EAGLE to be successful. I want the SUITS for CC to maybe realize that they made a horrible decision when they pulled it off the air. I want their success to finally shut up all of those who say "THERE IS NO DEMAND FOR A ROCK STATION". As long as it is programmed well, unlike in the past, and they have some entertaining, talented personalities... I feel they will do well. I just wish they were maybe spinning some harder rock tracks. Give the station some crunch. Some balls!

As for FMX being random. I understand what you are saying. Theirs is not a BAD random. I think FMX's randomness add's to their overall sound.

If that makes sense.

as far as the random "mistake" goes.... that is in the probability area of a lightning strike. It doesn't happen very often... when the Eagle signed on there were at least two rap songs in regular rotation.. for nay sayers, just check Mediabase and see. Its right there. The new PD is from Houston and has a bit more a an urban swagger than your basic Pantera loving Dallas rock listener.
