I didn't get a chance to sample it much but I distinctly remember catching a new legal on 97.7 today. It appears that KFMY's new ID is now Oakville as compared to Raymond and that they've moved to there new transmitter location some 10 miles or so northeast of Matlock. This new site will improve coverage significantly within most of Pugetropolis.

I checked Radio Locator and it appears that South Sound made the move. I'd like to know how 97.7 is coming in throughout various locales in the area. I'll sample some more tomorrow but from my location in the Tacoma lowlands the signal seems vastly improved.

One of the consequences of moving signals from Couger Mountain to Tiger Summit means that fringe outlets like KFMY get to "move in". Your thoughts and congrats to KFMY.

They come in all the way to South Everett, then the signal begins to clash with CBUF. CBUF still dominates most of NW Washington at ground level, Little Mountain, near Mount Vernon is one place there where you can often hear two FM stations on the same frequencies, 90.9, 96.1, 97.7, 99.3, and 104.9 namely and there's usually something on almost every frequency on the FM dial to hear. It's not uncommon to find other FM DXer's in the parking lot on the summit either. Even KPQ-FM can be heard in the underfuzz of KSWW on Little Mountain......

I'm down south where a number of fringe outlets (KFMY,KDDS,KNBQ,KXXO, Monkey) have an impact. All of these signals are city grade in Tacoma. They don't compete with B.C. outlets.

KFMY used to die going down the hill at SouthCenter. I'll have to see how it holds up now.
