KFNC Changes

Since KFNC is now officially a suburban Houston station licensed to Mont Belvieu, I guess it is too late to give the frequency back to BMT where it belongs.

93.3 , 97.5 , 98.5 , 107.9 belong back in the Beaumont-Port Arthur area.

During Tropo Conditions, those rim-shots above are unlistenable :D Rim shots don't work. Nuff said.

Beaumont is too small to support those stations

KIOL needs morning changes

For those of you who care...W&J from day one have been the parrots of the G.O.P., repeating the words of Rumsfeld, Rice and Bush as gospel.

W&J are a far cry from the far right.

W&J are pawns of the Cheney/Bush/Rumsfeld/Rice/Rove spin machine. W&j are the local spinsters of the Republican party. They endorsed the war in Iraq.
Over the years W&J have made these comments more than once,"American soldiers should act more like the Romans and the Nazis. For every American death, we should round up ten of theirs (civilians included) and kill them." More than once over the years W&J, especially Walton has praised the Nazi uniforms as sharp and "snappy"--those were his words.
The GM of a station they used to work for in New Orleans told me that he had to meet with officials from the Jewish Defense League after Walton & johnson called an official with the New Orleans Saints a "cheap old Jew".

These guys have bragged a lot about copies of their show being heard by American forces in Iraq. W&J said repeatedly that Abu Ghraib was nothing more than a college frat house inititation. It seems like in Haditha the advice that W&J gave about rounding up people and killing them for every American casualty was taken, whether they heard the comments from W&J or not.
These radio guys with no military experience should not be giving advice to American soldiers nor saying things that countermand the orders of their superiors. :-X

Again, why would a rock station need a high maintenance, low rated morning show, that constantly complains, tells people who to vote for, and is nothing more than an outlet for whatever press releases Karl Rove wants to put out? :p

I think it would be cool of w&j to put their kids on the air and ask them their opinion of the war in Iraq and if they plan on joining the military to serve in Iraq.

Ah, the reason behind your little W&J vendetta is finally revealed! Looks like you still really don't listen to the show and what you do hear, you're not getting.

To say W&J are right wing pawns is laughable. They pick at the guys in charge about every other day. In fact, they slam right and left equally and say it's short-sighted to be completely on one side of the card. The Roman and Nazi comments are tongue in cheek. They're not giving advice. It's part of the bit. It's supposed to get you a riled up so you'll call in.

As for W&J's kids, who cares? What's the point of having them on? Johnson's kids are high school/junior high. Walton's are college age and older, plus Trent passed away last October.

97.5 and 107.9 have been licensed to Beaumont. Even with 97.5 getting its COL changed, that wont help it..
BTW 97.5 is one of the oldest FMs in the state (especially in SE TX)...originally started on 99.5 in the late 40s..but when KHOU signed on in Galveston, the 2nd harmonic of 99.5 clobbered all the high gain amps on TVs trying to get CBS on 11 (KFDM in Bmt had not signed on yet)...the FCC stepped in and swapped 99.5 with 97.5 in Lake Charles (imagine that!! A TECHNICAL solution for a problem)...and now you know the rest of the story ;)

[EDIT*]
So you say the Nazi comments are tongue in cheek when they praise Nazi uniforms or when they joke about Holocaust victims being turned into lampshades?
As for you saying I don't listen to their show much...it's just difficult for me to stomach those brash egos and their uneducated opinions on anything from politics to music. So it should come as no surprise to anyone that someone who doesn't like their show wouldn't listen to every minute of it every day. Duh!

I don't know any of their kids, but surely w&j approve of the U.S. military being able to recruit kids in high school, maybe you've heard about how this is a controversy in some schools.
Other kids, college age and older are old enough to enlist. Do they not agree with their father's opinions on the war that they endorsed and editorialized for daily?

Any so called journalist in Houston would be well within his or her rights to question w&j's adult children and ask them if they plan to enlist, given the STRONG support of the war in Iraq by w&j, and the fact that those 2 guys don't just give their opinions but have openly ridiculed people who have proven to be right about this war. It would make for an interesting local TV news story as well as make for good reading by a local newspaper.

[*EDIT-Racist content]

When did the thread about KFNC changes turn into a Walton and Johnson flame group? Please don't go there about Walton's children; its very unfair.

What's intersting is someone who does not listen to the show claims to know everything about their views, personal life, and professional relationships. It's easy to take quotes out of context to fit your skewed image of them. If you also haven't caught on, the ego thing is also a joke. It's all part of the act!

I listen from Little Wing to Bye Bye, Billy Ed and I've never heard them mention this. Sounds to me like your issues really don't have anything to do with the radio show. What you're suggesting sounds like some gripey Michael Moore tactic. What does it matter to anyone if their kids serve or even agree with their views? With the exception of Trent, their kids are not part of their discussions. "Teenage Son of Radio DJ Doesn't Share Views" Yeah, wow, that's a story I want to read. Got an idea, why don't you call in Wednesday and share that with them. That will be real entertainment.

Maybe. Maybe not. Why is it necessary for them to agree with their father?

If you don't like W&J, don't listen to them. Simple as that.

Never claimed that HD2!

I ask again, what is the context when Walton puts on a Nazi German voice and asks if someone would like a lampshade of human skin, followed by laughter? To me that sounds like someone making fun of the Holocaust.
It's something that walton has repeated over the years on the air, but even the moderator here found the description of it offensive enough to delete in my previous post.

Oh yes! Their egos are an act! Well it's an arrogant, irritating and old act!

Duh! I never said THEY discussed it, I'm sure it's something they don't want their listeners to think about, especially the families of those who are actually in the service. It's a story that's been in the national news for quite some time.

Sounds to me like your Blah, Blah, Blah. I don't like the morning show on KIOL. I think their station would be better off without them; and whether I listen for 5 minutes or 5 hours a day is not only none of your concern, but my right. Just like it's my right to remind people who are journalists and who are just press release readers.

W&J gave strong, vocal support for the war in Iraq and called people with differing ideas or views stupid. They told people during the last two elections to vote for George Bush. They don't put on callers that can give them a strong debate or make a valid point, maybe that's why walton likes to run the board himself so he can pot down differing views.
Didn't those guys also run the Swift Boat ads for free on their network during the last presidential election? They don't run national spots, they just have local breaks, but they aired them on their network day after day for free. A friend of mine that used to work at CC told me they were never logged, I bet the same could be said for the affiliates at the time.

Maybe. Maybe not. Why is it necessary for them to agree with their father? It is not necessary, but considering the way that w&j blasted others for even asking legitimate questions and ridiculing them as traitors to America, I am just curious. These guys encouraged this war and I want to know if they have the backbone to send their own kids into Iraq. I think it would be great for w&j if one of their kids actually made a commitment to serve in the military. I wouldn't mind seeing a Houston TV station on kids of conservative spinsters, are they good citizens or college students, or do they cruise around looking for kindbud?

That's smart advice that seems to have been taken by most listeners in Houston! :D
Pretty sad being beaten over and over by the Buzz morning show! :-*
