KFNC - GONNA, WANNA, SHOULD'EV

I have read, with great interest, all of the excuses about why KFNC just does not have it together. I have come the conclusion that by the time they do get it together, there won't be an audience left. I give it until Christmas. And please, STOP IT ALREADY WITH THE "CAMP CUMULUS" weather observation. No one cares.

wow!! you guy's really hate this new approach in the Houston market, free form radio isn't new, but it is new to Houston AND YOU GUYS HATE IT! (all four of us who post on this board) I moved down from Dallas two years ago and used to post on the Dallas board about how bad Dallas radio was, but then I got here! Damn Houston radio is really bad. Lame generic rock station (klol) check, lame generic classic rock station (arrow) check, lame generic alternative station (buzz) check. Just the same old same old CC crap programming, then Camp Cummulus steps in and takes a swing at CC in the market and now myself and the three other no-life desk jockey loser's have something to talk about. LIFE IS SUDDENLY GOOD AGAIN!

I haven't listened to much of KFNC but I have heard on my way home sounds alot like the free form hot talk format up in Dallas. I will give it a listen, why? Because each day will be something new. I do think that they f'd up by branding it an FM news station, that just does not make any sense at all. I admire the crew at camp cummulus for at least trying to do something different, that takes ballz. I'll give it a listen for a few days and see if I like it or not..

Peace out bitches

I have joined others in calling this station on its major failures and on KIOL's, but I have hope for this station. I'm glad that KFNC is now an option for talk radio and I will continue to periodically give it a shot.
It is a much different approach from any of the current choices and it's refreshing.

We're not bashing it, we, at least I, are dissapointed so far and are hoping that this station can pull together and give KTRH some viable competition (despite the signal).

I gave it a listen yesterday, and they do seem still be feeling out what they actually are as a station, I could have done without the warrior priest jumping in every couple of seconds with his lighting strike reports.

People not bashing, as gr8trails stated disappointed. Cumulus stations came on air not prepared. No excuse, especially News-Talk. Cumulus should taken lesson Biz Radio 1320, had together 1st day. Everyone pulling Cumulus make it.

Praise is given out when warrented. Like you said Hou radio bad. Not much to praise. Race see who will have #1 shitty station.

I listened to the station today around 11:20 - 11:40. I really enjoyed Martha Martinez's news report at 11:30. She sounds very professional (to me) and I think she will be a good force in Houston radio news reporting.

I did hear some things on AW's portion on the show today that almost turned me off...but I will save my comments for later (unless somebody specifically replies to this post or asks). It might have just been his style that I haven't picked up on...so I will give him as well as the station a little more of a chance before I start nit-picking on things.

Martha is very smooth. She's my favorite on the station. Although, she has been a major force in Houston radio news...she was a part of the first news crew in the old KLOL and KTRH days. I remember her well.

Yes, I knew she had been on before and has been a "major force" before. This is just the first time I've really listened to her. I didn't mean to say she "will be". :)

Also, as far as A.W. goes, I think I may have just missed his sense of humor today...and I only listened briefly (it was the part where they had the guy who did the video on how to tie ties---I may have missed the whole point of that!). I am willing to give him (A.W.) more of a chance. I am curious to see how this station does.
