KFNN, KPHX NOBODY LISTENING TERRIBLY LOW CUMES

Yikes! A cume of under 30,000 for both 1100 and 1480. What happened to former local hosts on these stns such as Charles Goyette, Mike Newcomb, and Jeff Farias? KFNX has third tier syndicated conservatives.

KPHX has liberal talkers that offend over half the audience with their rants and jokes against Republicans. My gripe with these guys (and gals) is that they just aren't constructive and don't stick to issues (like they do on #1 KGO). Instead, they like to bash Republicans and conservatives, who have comprised the majority of the Talk Radio audience since the Rise of Rush. When you attack the hearts and minds of your audience, you can't get ratings, especially in conservative arizona.

SUBJECT LINE SHOULD READ

1100 KFNX, 1480 KPHX, NOBODY LISTENING

of course, 1510 KFNN already has low cume due to the specialized nature of their business programming, and they are one of the best business stations in the US

Look at the people who helped build the place... Sinclair Noe, Matt Ganis, Dan Beach, Myself...
Many many former KFYI staff members have gone over there, and it has improved significantly
in the last 20 years.

Good people make a mediocre product into a good one.

KFuNN does just fine without having to deal with Arbitron. Upscale, well educated and affluent... and advertisers know it. Can't say the same about Kah Pay Achee Eckees as the number of Kool-Aid drinkers continue to dwindle. Guess that's another thing to blame on Dubya!

Doc, are you revealing the nasty secret that all those East Valley upscale snooty limocrats have <gasp!> AM radio's in their carriages and actually know which button to push to get the latest Dow Jones?

Sorry to burst the stereotype, but anyone who wants the latest DJIA aint gonna get it from radio! KFuNN's big thing is wealth management, financial planning, equities advise, real estate and Gold, Gold, Gold. They pack PHX Convention Center year after year with Financialfest and a lot of their syndicated talkers come to the Valley for SRO seminars. Listening to Ray Lucia is downright entertational (entertaining and educational). Is it any wonder the KFuNNsters can't bring themselves to power down to 100 watts at sunset?

Newcomb is on from 4 to 7pm. IMHO, he's the weak link in the lineup, but Randi Rhodes (sometimes irritating but entertaining) and Thom Hartmann (a tad too cerebral at times, but informative) make up for it.

I agree about KGO. Liberal bent, but informative without being preachy.

Absolutely - That is precisely my point -

As for Newcomb one local host is not enough. How about 2 or 3 co-hosts for morning drive, and replace the rather monotonous Hartmann with Ed Schultz live.

Oh yes and I have NEVER heard ONE conservative EVER attack any Democrat! Give me a break. That's all they know how to do (having no sane or logical arguments to anything) WTF are you trying to imitate? Jon Stewart? Don't give up your day job....

The only issue with Ed Schultz is -- who wants to listen to a guy who had a vodka bottle thrown at him by a pissed off fan at a NCAA Div. 2 football game, Shot and killed his Dog while out Pheasant hunting, & got the hell beat out of him by a listener all in one career? ::)

Sorry the guy has too much baggage for this flight.
