KFOG PD out?

It is...as predicted. Bill Pugh replaces. Dennis went well beyond his level of incompetence. KINK should have been an obvious clue.

I'm no Constantine fan -- just for his trashing of 10@10 alone -- but it seemed to me he did everything his Cumulus overlords asked him to do, including that ridiculous Morning Show debacle, which was clearly THEIR idea and which he took responsibility for regardless. He brought their demos to a younger place, and it's a weird market to be a heritage Triple-A in when you're surrounded by 2 classic rockers plus Alice and Live 105.

My understanding was that the mess he made at KINK was a learning experience for him. Apparently he didn't learn nearly enough.

I liked Dennis, except when he put Renee in charge of anything. Very sad to see him go.

This new guy's specialty is sports radio. KFOG 104.5 could be the game 104.5, as soon as tomorrow. :-\

I would hate to see that happen, though an FM simulcast of KNBR 680 might make some sense for the future.

Doubt Constantine's departure has anything to do with what he did or didn't learn in Portland. Cumulus is obviously going in a "different direction." Constantine is past traditional retirement age, way out of the demo. His replacement isn't much younger. After a couple of years of tinkering with the format, including the Twitch morning disaster, it looks like Cumulus will finally blow up the legendary KFOG. "Nash" Country has to be a strong possibility.

I don't know what you mean by that. Dennis had KINK #1 in 25-54 for almost the entire 13 years he was there, except for the last 6 or so months.

That's just simply not true. Where are you getting your figures?

Arbitron. They were also #1 in billings during that time. A PD doesn't stay at a station for 13 years if he's not successful.

I think KINK were successful for a good long while but when PPMs came in it hurt them (like it hurt most Triple-As). What I remember reading, either here or elsewhere, was that Constantine was not prepared for PPMs and was too slow to react when they hit.
