KFPB Sold

Hopefully he'll be able to add some translators so someone will actually be able to hear the station. But what in investment. He paid 1.2 mil for a shell of a station with a crappy signal.

Re: 94.3 KFPB Sold

There seems to be fairly good signal coverage for 94.3 in the quad cities - Prescott / P.V. / Chino Valley and Dewey-Humboldt - The listeners that I have spoken with are relatively loyal to the standards of Country Music played. That would translate as a high cume...? Speaking of radios at work and such - they leave the dial locked in...
I wish the new owner (s) success and perhaps they can carry ASU Football. Then, we can listen to something without all the nighttime AM interference noise on 1490 KYCA and 780 KAZM.

I've picked up a lot of static in many areas, even driving from Prescott to Prescott Valley. No coverage in Cottonwood or Flag. Horrible signal.

It would more likely translate to high TSL (time spent listening). Cume equates to the sheer number of listeners who tune in for 5 minutes or more each week.

Let's hope they do.

In yesterday's FCC daily digest a call letter change is pending to KDDL. Sounds as if a format change will take place after approval of the sale.

KDDL sounds like they would be call letters for a station that would call itself "Kool" (oldies/classic hits?). But, Prescott doesn't need a second oldies station when they already have one with a better signal in KKLD.

Yeah, it is ratty from around the Home Depot to that Kia dealer on the hillside... and in Hassayampa, despite the height, it gets nasty multipath off the butte on my home radio (a Target special in one room and a BA receptor in another).

javascript:void(0);In the PT Cruiser - 94.3 is strong in Cottonwood, Sedona, on I-17, Rimrock/Lake Montezuma and into Flagstaff, as of 8/28/07 - way cleaner on I- 17 than "The Mountin'"

rickity

They haven't changed format...they are still traditional country, but the calls KDDL go with their new name which is "Cattle Country". Not a good handle in my opinion, but KDDL are much better calls anyday than KFPB - Jim Primm got the call letter idea from his mother, who along with his dad, was his partner in the station. It stood for Fat Pipe Broadcasting.
