Isn't it time to just flush the entire format and go country? I think that is exactly what they need to do!

The next step beyond that move is to hire "Bright Upclose and Personal Country Radio Personalities" that know the artists creating and performing the music in a real swing your partner uptempo country style among others! I'm sure they can be found and "Please" no wanna-bees need apply!

Next have them On-Air from early morning drive through at least midnight and never forget to tell the listener the name of the song and the artist.

I'm sure other posters have ideas that they would add to these above.

As for Cami, Dean, and Sue I think its time to move on to your next assignment!

Times change and the time has come to make them!

Any takers?

no they should not, and I don't think they want to make a mistake like they did with 93.3. just face it, country is never going to work here! period<P ID="signature">______________

Simply,

Uh, no.

You've been badmouthing KFRC and pushing country for how long? Of course, you also claimed it was going to flip to country when they tweaked their format.

Country is just not going to work in the city of San Francisco.

I guess it is better than a CHR topic though.

I think The Bear was forced into failure by the Variety Hits blast that happened.

I thought 95.7 was on its way up??

Yes. this current format has not even reached the same rating as The Bear did.

Well, it did at one time -- KSAN did well during the "hat act" boom of the early '90s. So well, in fact that 93.3 came along to try and get a piece of a pie that was good-sized but not huge. THAT was the mistake, not country itself.

If KFRC switched to country there is a 100% chance their ratings would go down (and probably down sharply) from their Fall 05 level. It's not going to happen.

If anyone should go country it's MAX. They should admit they made a mistake and bring the BEAR back.

Why? They just had their best Arbitron in two years- they've updated their sound to finally flush away the doo-wop era music and have at last contemporized.

Give 'em a chance.
