KFRC-AM IS BLAH BLAH, KFRC YA DA YA DA

Thanks, anyway, but I didn't start this conversation to discuss where transmitters are, who knows
who or the merits of Scott versus Mike, programming vs. sales. As this should all be
PARTS of a much more splendid Sum
, they should be working together, not taking
sides and dividing. I asked about WHO is in charge, while our people lose jobs,
positions are cut, product quality deteriorates and audiences flee you onto other venues. No
answers came, just side issues. OK, fine. Too scary, huh? --Better not read on, then...

We have all spent enough time perfecting our craft to at least deserve to know WHO, other
than those listening we were doing this for -- who it is guiding us through these fearsome
times of our broadcasting vocation. Since no one visiting or contributing to this thread
has yet to show the moxie, I'll do it myself -- name the names; not the yes men,
but the one(s) to whom they blow their "yes" kisses.

I'll just take the patch off the big "Blind Eye," you can do the others if you dare. And there
are bigger and worse out there right now. And they like it when you are terrified.

CBS RADIO has license to operate 140 radio stations throughout our country’s top 50
markets and additionally, is home to 24 of the nation's leading sports franchises (the NFL,
the NBA, the WNBA and the NHL, MLB including the New York Yankees, and Mets and Giants,
Chicago White Sox, New England Patriots, Chicago Bears and Detroit Red Wings) yet lists
ONE executive in charge of all these organizations and facilities (while the Outdoor Ad Division
of the same corp boasts 23 execs; one CEO and nearly 2 dozen assorted VPs).

One man in charge of CBS Radio: the much heralded Dan Mason, President and Chief Exec.
This is who has you shaking in your stylish-looking shoes.

If no other names are uncovered, it really doesn't matter, as this is the Top Man, The Chief, The Decider.
Besides, he's rapidly getting rid of the others.

Lately it has been decided, for reasons I'm sure he has many human-removed, purely (2 dimensional)
business arguments, to cut hundreds of jobs across the country, while simply erasing the position of
general manager at one third of the stations under his watch. You know the stations and axed; you ARE
those eliminated. You, with careers harpooned and call letters decimated beyond public trust are why I'm
demanding accountability, and rightly so. We all are most certainly feeling the sway of his "expertise here
in San Francisco.

Locally, in our Bay Area, this human entity is responsible for the operations of:

What defines success
? Even with it's Human Resources down to one person, earnings down 99.9%, but
still making a penny, a company can still be said to be "profitable."

And the last man standing will still be Number-1 on his annual list of the 40 Most Powerful People In Radio.

Just like I'm sure this person is the smiling darling of someone else, I'm sure the listeners give a damn.
