I sometimes listen to their stream, now that it's up, but BossRadioDJ's recreation of "The Big 610" has become a new favorite. Good stuff!!

Thanks, Don. You'll note that the promised addition of classic airchecks from the original Big 610 and other features planned for the museum's tribute to KFRC have been held back due to an unexpected (but very exciting) bit of news that will be forthcoming shortly.

Heck, we'd even had one of the Original Big 610 Men record a bunch of liners and intros, but it appears that his talents will be put to better use...

Oh, shoot. I'd tell you more, but one of the babies is crying. Don't go away. I'll be right back!

Johnny Williams (Chuck Martin) also known as the Chucker was a temp fill jock in 1981, Cagle arrived in town in October and in February let Candi Chamberlain go leaving the 10pm to 2am slot open, KHJ had just switched over to country leaving Chuck out of work so Cagle had him handle the late night shift for about 3 months til Shannon O'Brian was broght in from KSFX.

David,

You're getting better at teasers than Van Amburg. Can we assume you'll have "details at 11:00"?

David,

Tell us by 11 ... or my other dog get's it.

Spill the beans. C'mon.

Thanks.

As noted in the other popular KFRC thread, according to an incredibly reliable source, there will be first word about all this in Leah Garchik's column in tomorrow's Chronicle.

"The changes start on May 16, 2017!"

What? We have to wait ten years? The aging "Oldies" demographic will be pushing 70 by then. Maybe KFRC can sell advertising for Medicare supplementals, oxygen home delivery, and fake herbal anti-Alzheimer's remedies.

Well I only missed by ten years and one day, but I really meant to say May 16, 2007! lol lol lol

And the Classic Hits just keep on comin' ... now, if the braintrusts at CBS can only figure out, then remember, that it's about revenues, not just sound, as good as it will be (and it's not half bad now.)

I wonder how our resident radio biz expert who says that agencies won't touch this demo feel now that CBS is selling, at least at first, ads on both Internet streams and on air.

45 to 64 year olds, rejoice.

There is hope.

Good luck and best wishes to "Classic Hits" (not oldies, not classic rock) K F R C.

Don't forget the Geritol for tired blood and reverse mortgages, Llew. :D

Man what did they have for lunch on this day back in 1977?

While your question is tongue-in-cheek, you gotta remember Michael Hagerty's middle name is "Intelligent," and he knows his stuff. Glad you're here, MH!

This just has to be b.s. But wouldn't it be awesome if true? It would actually work! My dream lineup:

Mornings: Ron Parker
Middays: Bobby Ocean
Afternoon: Eric Chase
Nights: Hmmmm. Somebody who cooks....

Now, THAT would tear up Bagdad by the Bay.....
Eric Chase (now Paul Christy)has been here in Houston since 1984. He's currently at KHTC 107-5 K-Hits. I don't think he's going anywhere anytime soon. I'd hope not.
