KFRC might get jacked after all

Would Infinity really try it now - after MAX? Inside the halls, there is zero belief that Oldies will survive. Zero.

> I liked X-100 too, but back to the Oldies topic...Longerm - 60s oldies is probably a loser. But why would Infinity give up the ONLY 60s Oldies format in the market with decent ratings to become the SECOND Jack station in the Bay Area? Things change quickly in radio - so why not wait a year (five?)until KFRC is losing audience share? And if Infinity does want a Jack station in the Bay Area, why not wait until 106.9 is operational, given that they were already beat to the punch by Bonneville (Max)? Doesn't make sense to me.

Back to the subject of Top 40, I was shopping at Serramonte mall in Daly City earlier this week, and one store (teenage-young adult oriented) was playing 102.7 KIIS-FM from LA

CHR TOP 40 here we come.......now is the time, bring back

There ARE 4 niches in San Francisco -- classical (which does awesome in the ratings), dance, oldies & urban oldies.
And, there are 2 needful things in San Francisco -- CHR & country.

For those who don't know, Power 92.7 1.x share did better than Energy's current 0.6 share. Energy's still a loser there, BTW. Who'll do CHR in Frisco, Alice or Star (the most voted one)? Stay tuned!

Not sure of your point there, as to whether it's a needed format (they had to go all the way to LA to find a station they liked) or good signal (came all the way up from LA). But XM has a station that is the 102.7 KIIS FM station. They play everything but the commercials (or maybe they play national spots? can't remember it's been too long since I"ve had XM).

What exactly was the Bay Boomer at X-100? Not the large radio.

Don't think X-100 will Ever Return

Not just because the music scene has changed from rhythmic music to non stop rap. But you don't have companies like Emmis willing to hand out thousands of dollars every week. I would walk out of the offices with hundredes of dollars to give to unsuspected listeners. That would never happen again.

The only CHR option for this area is some watered down K101 crap that people think is CHR.

YEP, They called it the bay boomer, cuz, it was so loud, I think KRTY in san jose bought the prop and then they now use the THUNDER TRUCK once used by z95.7.

KFRC might get jacked?

No.

No? No, Infinity will not try Jack? Or no, there is zero belief that Oldies will survive?

Sorry Wrong

So sorry but you are wrong. AS one of the three people who named the BAY BOMBER, I know the name.

Since you are such a fan, you also probably remember that there was a contest to name the radio when we first stared. The "winning" entry was the "Deranged Radio"..and that lasted for about a month as we received no decent entries. It was renamed the Bay Bomber by first X-100 PD Bill Stairs.

When X was sold, a Spanish radio station in SF bought it and it was still stored at its location at one of the piers on the waterfront. It was repainted from the red color and I understand that it was sold to an out of state station.
