KFRC'S LATEST NUMBERS

This is an insult to this frequency - KYUU - X-100 - KFRC-FM - a one share!
All of the SF CBS FMs are in horrible shape. It's hard to do that bad if you try! Consider this statistic...KOIT has a larger share than all 4 CBS FMs combined!
Here's some of the reasons they are in this mess. The music on MOVIN" was already oversaturated in the Bay area, there was no hole for the format. Plus, the songs they play were all national hits, rhythmic songs that were big in the midwest. MOVIN" doesn't have a Bay area flavor.
FREE is a disaster everywhere. it just doesn't work. For some reason the SF FREE is doing the worst of all. The Bay area likes talk radio with substance not the chatter on KIFR.
ALICE is probably the hippest, most modern leaning Hot AC anywhere in the U.S. Way too much overlap with KITS.

The time has come for the brass in New York to fire everyone in management at the CBS FM stations in the bay area! It is time to clean house but they'll never have the wherewithall to do it! Radios time in the limelite is over! It is now just an also-ran and is no longer an innovator for anything at all. The list of choices for us all is so vast now that no one service will dominate any longer! Long live choice! I thought
movin' would have done better but I think it should be given at least three or four books to be sure its a loser! It might still catch on, ya think? lol lol lol...while all the other stations laugh all the way to the bank!

JayF, I have a Question, wasnt it Doug Harvill that made this mess? He and his associate Mike Preston are probably going to have their heads served to them on the "CBS/ Infinity Platter" No ratings, no DJs, someone needs to to tell these two guys to "Get Your Desk Cleaned Out"!!! I predicted a year and Movin would dissapear, looks like It might happen sooner!! Huh? Looks like the Bay Area is hooked on "Lite Rock,Less Talk" , CBS probably hasnt seen much profit from Movin, Ive got a good idea, drop your TV spots they dont work!!

CBS bandwagon - If FRESH 102.7 works in NY - They might try it on KLLC, KFRC-FM or KITS.

i don't care what anyone thinks... these are the brain trusts that brought us the legendary X100, KWSS (post kelly & kline), plus doug harvil supplying leadership, stop putting down moving because they arent performing up to YOUR standards ... they are making a TON of money. even with NO ratings ...it doesn't matter what you have it's what you can SELL. trust me, they are TAKING big dollars away from the Ratings Dominant CC cluster Every day...ask them about McDonalds, best buy, etc....don't underestimate moving...i still think they should bring back bob perry! has anyone heard word on what happened to that guy??? as far as jocks...christopher lance would rock at moving! they missed their shot on Lisa Foxx ...cmon guys let's make some POWER MOVES!!!

Harvil and "leadership" should not be used in the same sentence. While Doug is a nice person, NONE of the CBS FMs are even in the top ten, 25-54. Regarding KFRC's 'tons of money' revenue, they didn't hit their budget numbers for over 2 years until just before killing the Classic Hits format. Nice move, Joel. Chris Lance is an ok jock but has major problems handling Audio Vault. I have the airchecks to prove that. There are much better players to put on the station. By the way, according to many in the Sales and Programming Departments, Kincaid was the best thing to hit KFRC in a long time. Word is, he helped to drive billing and raised the bar of performance for the rest of the airstaff. Plus, his fit factor with MOVIN would have been very high, given his experience with Rhythmic CHR powerhouses like Kiss in Boston and Q-106, San Diego. JoJo was APD at both of those stations and surely would have brought much to the table with the new format. Instead, CBS sent him home. Talk about blowing an opportunity.
One more comment...be easy on Mike Preston. This mistake was not his call. In the opinion of many, including CBS management, he had KFRC sounding really good and getting better. What a damned shame.

Oh really? Would that be the same CBS Management that has been screwing things up everywhere? In the last 5 years the best KFRC ever sounded was when C. Lance was doing nights. Whoever was doing the music then was on to something. Given time KFRC would be back in the 3's.
CBS should clean house...
97.3 - "Hot 97" in your face Urban
99.7 - straight ahead AC to give KOIT a run for their money
105.3 - keep the legendary calls, but figure out what the hell you're doing with them
106.9 - give country one last shot, and put some money into it this time. Couldn't have worse numbers than Free.
