KFRP Coalinga (Family Radio)

Family Radio has turned in the FCC permit for the shuttered KFRP licensed to Coalinga. The outlet lost its broadcast location (an American Tower site). The station really was more a rimshotter for Atascadero and Paso Robles.

The station ran 2.5kw ERP vertical-only from the remote ridgeline site; coupled with a directional antenna it really had marginal coverage over Coalinga anyway.

Frequencies in the NCE band (below 92 MHz) aren't auctioned. They are allocated using a points system. There are no vacant allotments like in the commercial band - potential stations in the designated windows (the 2021 window is in a few months, the last one was in 2007) could propose any free frequency.
