KFWB About To Be Sold?

Really Fornax? 'Splain it to us then.

Please don't take offense, I hope this explains. My observation was simply that you and most of the others involved in this discussion are at best only casually informed about the actual workings of the FCC. You've proven that you were completely uninformed about the timing and details of this particular trust. So, it is hard for me to take your assertion that this is all a "charade and a scam" the least bit seriously.

And after reading the article I continue to stand by my charade and scam observation. Just because the rule has been subverted by the legal process for all of these years and only now the station is being "officially" put into an asset trust doesn't mean it hasn't been a charade. Again, they'll pay for this in the end because there is no way the station will fetch the dollars at sale now as it would have then. And for what, to be the proud provider of the Smirconish program in LA?

But the longest delay (5+ years)was caused by the FCC reversing its own cross ownership rules. How is that subverting the legal process?

That is the whole point. The charade has been carried on by both parties, the regulator and the regulated party. The rule was simply not applied equally. I'm quite sure CC would have loved to have put 690 in a permanent "trust" for all of these years and continue to make money off of the signal. But no, the regulator came down hard on them and even though the station isn't even licensed to or transmitted from this country, the FCC still claimed regulatory authority over it and said that it "counted" against CC's station count and they must sell. CC did. CBS didn't - and got away with it.
