KFWB PD Thinking "Positive"

Well that is a very "positive spin" for a station that is #37 in the latest ratings, whose shares have gone from 0.6 to 0.6 to 0.7 in the last three monthly reporting periods ("books")

Oh, the article was focusing on cume and not share?

the 469,000 mentioned in the story was the best book of the last three for KFWB. By contrast KABC's worst cume for the same three book period was 485,900. Their shares have gone from 1.2 - 1.2 - 1.1.

Our Accuracy Department has weighed in: When KFWB catches perennial laggard KABC, then there is a story. Until then, nothing to see here.

Standard disclaimers of course apply - the ratings I cite are the 6+ posted on this site. Appropriate demo ratings are more appropriate for proper analysis. But KFWB's failure to cite any of them in the story is a pretty good indicator that they're not saying anything different.

With KFWB having more positive programing, I think they should add Clark Howard. He has good consumer advice and according to his website, his program is 3 hours long, but KTLK only carries 2 and maybe none if they have a sporting event. Also during one 17 minute segment every day, they have 3 minutes of Clark and 14 minutes of commercials. I always turn it off when the commercials start but sometimes forget to tune back in and miss the rest of his show.
If KWFB carried the entire show and had less commercials I would bet he would have higher ratings.

He has to think positive, because eventually CBS will finally find a buyer for KFWB... and it likely won't be an anglophone one.

Until then, CBS is running KFWB as an afterthought. It really doesn't matter to them.

KABC is run as an afterthought by Citadel and look at how the ratings between it and KFWB mirror each other.
If this parallel were made of pudding it would be the proof.

Also, KTLK's only sports contract is with the LA Kings and that's only during the regular season. As soon as they do well enough to open post season play KLAC jumps on their jimmies as if they've been there all along. *eyeroll*

Let's all start singing it: Kah-Eff-Doble-oo-Beh Canal Noventa Y Ocho!
