KFWD 102.1 HISTORY QUESTION DEBATE HELP

Just went to Mike's page on Dallas/Fort Worth Radio and see KIXL didn't own KEZT from 1973 until selling to KKDA. I never listened enough to know if their commercial load was really light or not but I know the standard Beautiful Music format was 7 minutes an hour.

If anybody had an aircheck, I'd love to hear it.

Guess I should read more carefully...KIXL and KEZT were co-owned.

I recall being freaked out when KIXL played Tears Of A Clown by Smokey Robinson when it was a hit. It just didn't seem to fit their format.

bturner:

Would you happen to know the exact date when KFWD went from Top 40 to Album rock. I am still doing research for this date but I can't find it anywhere.

Thanks for your help. I really appreciate it.

T.J.
