KFWD picking up one former TXCN show

TXCN dumped "Ford Sports Talk" when they dumped most of their on-air staff a while back. I saw a promo on KFWD today for "TV 52 Sports Talk" with the same set and anchor as before. It debuts September 12th.

Maybe the folks at Belo are resurrecting some of these TXCN shows to see if putting them on a station people actually watch will result in profitable ratings.

One wonders if the Ticket's Cowboys post-game shows or Gary Cogill's Big Movie Show will be next?

Good question, and I will say it's highly probable. Gary's show IF it is successful in the terms of $$ could be syndicated by Belo. Cowboy Pregame and Postgame shows could as well. Somebody maybe thinking over there.

I wonder if "Mattie" will be too far behind?

Why anyone would give her a job is beyond me....

Hang on there. That's a different Mattie. Check KTVT's website and see. Now why anyone would name their kid "Mattie" is beyond me!!

Bigger question here: Does this spell the end for TXCN? If they're moving shows out of harm's way, I can only guess that this is the final curtain. I'd bet their ratings are completely non-existent now, and surely the Belo folks stare at that TXCN building across the parking lot every day and wonder what they're paying for and why. I gave them 6 months tops after the change last December; they've passed that now, but how much longer?

The sensible thing would be to move Channel 8 into the TXCN studios, unless they've been stripped already and sold at auction. If TXCN were to continue, perhaps a janitor's closet with a board and a hard drive could run the whole thing. The morning and noon news could run from the new studio at AAC, and the main TXCN studio could be used for 5, 6 and 10. Leave sales and accounting at the old building, and production and news could move across the parking lot.

Nope. It's the same one.

OK, I must be confused. Who's the short, very thin, Supremes-dressed blonde-haired woman that tries so hard to look movie-star-ish at Ch 8 but comes off as an aging Southern Belle who could stand a nosejob? I thought SHE was Mattie. She used to host something on TXCN and pops up sometimes on "Good Morning Texas."
