KFWD upgrades to 1080i and adds subchannel

I just noticed that KFWD has upgraded to 1080i.
They also added a subchannel that's 480i. (it's just a stretched version of the main channel)
Wonder if that means they'll start running some high def shows on the main channel.
Also wonder what they'll do with the subchannel.

I also noticed that their EPG is showing detailed programming information. I don't recall seeing that prior to this change.

There are several shows that KFWD carries that are available in HD, if they're inclined to do something with their new signal.

The most obvious shows are their Belo-supplied primetime talk block from 7 PM to 9 PM. In the same category would be their rebroadcasts of WFAA's 6 PM and 10 PM newscasts.

And if they're willing to go a bit outside the box, some of the reruns that they air are available in HD, as well -- "Hogan's Heroes" at the very least. That would be kind of cool...

This is just phase one in prepairing for the future. The std def output of MC is going to an AJA FS-1 to upconvert today. Standby for more updates. More funds are needed to upgrade the MC SW and server. I am just an observer on this.
