KFWhyEye @ Reduced Power?

5~Fifty's mod level is lamer than the Obamacare website! At night they sound like an out of market signal. During the day you have to lower the volume on your radio when dial punching. Is this another way for Clear Channel to cut costs by throttling back the pow-pow-power?

I'm sure by now the Power Rock and the old RCA have since been retired at 550. But that old RCA was a beast. Not only did it make a pretty glow when you fired it up, but if the air conditioning had died in the building, it would still crank out the power and stay on air while you waited on the repair guy.

A Harris DX-10 was installed something like 15 years ago, and the Power Rock served/serves? as a back-up. The RCA was sent on its merry way, but I retained the door art on a plaque. Perhaps the caps in the DX-10 have turned to sand!

Something aint right at 36th St & Southern as even Lumberyard 14~Forty is louder than 5~Fifty...even at night where their 52 watts is heard. YIKES!

Maybe all the hot air spewing out of that transmitter 24/7 caused it to overheat. :D
