Unless I am on an episode of "Punkd" that I'm unaware of, KFYI needs to hire smarter people!!!

I just heard a KFYI news update in which the announcer talked about a small plane crash earlier today at Deer Valley airport. She then went on to say that a FE-MAL-E was injured!!! RHYMES WITH TAMALE!!!!

Are you freakin' kidding me??? The word is female. It is what you are, lady!!! FEMALE!!!! Say it with me....FEEEEEEE-MALE. Rhymes with Hail. Or Dale. Or Mail.

DUHHHHHHHHHHHHHH.

STEP YOUR GAME UP, KFYI!!!! It's one thing to have some traffic monkey on KFYI tell me that Indian School will be shut down "North and Southbound" for the APS Xmas Parade....but to not be quick enough to realize that female is pronounced female???!!

COME ON!!!!!!!!!!!!
 
Or even have the announcer pre-read before going on-air.

Unfortunately, that female pilot died in the crash. And, it was not on airport property but west of I-17 in a trailer park. No one on the ground was injured.
 
Was the female anchor's name Melissa Gonzalo? Those of us who also post/read on the Phoenix TV Board have a great relationship with Ms. Gonzalo, formerly of KPNX/12 News. She was known to mangle basic English words. She was nice enough but needed more seasoning.
 
I guess news radio is more noticeable, but late one night I heard a guy on KEZ pronounce the group "Chic" as "Chick" like baby chick, not "Sheek". How does a DJ for that station not know that??
 
KOOL was a great station when it was live overnights. It was fun to listen to it with all the requests that got played, Radio the way it should always be LIVE!

Reminds me of a classic Saturday Night Live skit where Alec Baldwin was a TV doctor who mis-pronounced every diagnosis he gave.
