KFYI Ratings Plunge

KFYI 5.1 to a 3.9 12+. Ouch! KTAR 2.9 to a 3.1. Anybody know who won 25-54?

KFYI tanked 25-54 in the biggest book of the year. KFYI had 2.8 and KTAR 2.5. Looks like a dead heat.

Decimated their newsroom

I agree with all of the above(and I e mailed the dude boss and said as much) with one exception, I'll bet Savage got better ratings than WOH. Are the ratings broken down by the hour like that? Is there a place where one can see that information?

Okay, so that 2 share was supposed to be the savior for KFYI? Nothing against Joe, he was better than the competition, but not exactly burning up the books.

Ha! you would prefer random nightly hosts ("Wheel of hosts") over a seasoned, proven talent in Michael Savage? Don't get me wrong, I don't like Savage at all, but he is an accomplished host--or at least somewhat. Of course, the one host that would fill in regularly that had real personality was immediately given the boot (Brian James)... which was fairly gutless on the part of KFYI.

When KFYI was garnering their highest ratings a few books ago they had these same hosts, so that argument doesn't wash.

Barry CHOOSES to be kept at 2 hours. In 2003, Barry decided to scale back the amount of time he wished to do his show from 3 hours (8-11a) to 2 hours, 8-10a.

The Nearly Famous One was talking about hepatitis at Cheesecake Factory today while Ankarlo did the best show I've heard from him on being pissed about the helicopter crash and the cop shot. KTAR-FM is starting to sound a lot better than KFYI. Still like Limbaugh and Hannity tho.

It looks like it was an overall down book for the Clear Channel cluster with the major exception of MIX.

You'd think KTAR would've gained more with the KFYI 12+ loss, but it looks like KZON and KTAR-AM picked up KFYI numbers. Lucky for KFYI that the Free FM station went buh-bye.

Funniest thing I've heard in a long time listening to Barry talking about KFYI crashing. The dudeboss can not be happy about Barry talking on the air about KFYI's problems.

Wonder if the Chickboss told the Dudeboss about the Nearly Bald One's daily rant during contract talks? That putdown lasted a couple of months! TNBO is the I in team and we're convinced had much to do about the departure of The Evil One and the Blowhard's arrival.

Just heard the KT'R promo, promoting themselves as beating the other talk station with the NBO's "trade marked" applause, and Homer Simpson saying something... C'mon MISU, a little humility please ;D!

As much as I liked Free FM (and made Adam Carolla my morning fix and Big O and Dukes my nightcap)....it was apparently never that much of a threat to the AM Band.

Or the other possibility...which is that KZON was flipped away from guy talk just as it was hitting its stride and showing enormous growth in the Spring book.
