KGAN House Cleaning

Well Well Well...I never thought old Tedd O'Connell would be a news director. But he looks to have shown up at KGAN. And what a company to work for..cutthroat and barebones. Here's something to discourage all you newsies hoping for some change...just ask anyone who worked at KMEG-TV in Sioux City how he did....you will hear about budget meetings until you are blue in the face...and the already low ratings for 2 will sink like a ship. He cleaned house over at KMEG...at least 20 people were let go under his reign there. They changed ownership and he was out just like that. I am sure he will fit right in with the Sinclair way of doing business. I am sorry for Eastern Iowa viewers. Enjoy boring news from 2! The man has to be closing in on 65 or 70 now.

Here's the irony...is it really such a bad thing for KGAN that Tiffany is leaving? Not to be crass, but she has been an anchor on a newscast that has continuously been on the decline. Is it her fault? Probably not...but the rating numbers have not been kind to KGAN during her tenure. I have met Tiffany and think she is a very classy lady, so this isn't a personal attack, just an observation.

If KGAN is smart, they'll try to hire the up-and-coming young anchor Nicole King out of Austin, MN, http://www.kaaltv.com/article/view/100641/ before she goes national. But then, she might think KGAN is a step down! :D

With all due respect, if she "goes national" I'll "eat my pants." She has some very basic skills, and the camera treats her well, but unless she has improved immensely from her time in Cedar Falls, she has a long distance left to travel.

Yes, this is true of most air talent in markets of that size.
