KGBT first and last

Well, with the ghost of KRGV (KRGE-AM) pulling a 2.0 with a Spanish religious format, I'd have to agree! Is that the only Spanish news/talk in the RGV?

And on KGBT-FM, it's showing what I'd consider a major drop from Sp 10, from a 1.2 lead over KBFM to a .3 lead, that after trailing in the previous books. I wonder if KGBT-FM is on its way down as well?

Matamoros does have a new Radio Formula FM, XHRV on 89.5 that was allocated to San Fernando but moved north to Valle Hermoso to reach the border towns.

In the last 5 books, 25-54, KGBT FM has had a 9.6, 11.5, 11.2, 11.9, 12.8 and 11.0

Considering that this is a non-continuous market for Arbitron, and the sample is less than 150 diaries a week in a rather large geographic area, it borders on a miracle to see that kind of ratings stability.

Of course, stations with such high shares will be more stable as the share generally translates into a higher cume share, too.

When you get down to around the 5-6 share range, there is noticable wobble even for very consistent formats as can be seen with KGBT's siter, KBTQ, with a 6.4, 8.4, 8.2, 7.3 and a 7.9 share starting with Fall of '08. The percentage variation is just under 30% based on the lowest share.

Going to lower rated stations shows even greater percentage excursions, which is normal within the margin of error inherent in the sample.
