I listened to the guy who runs the program there a couple weeks ago on a local morning show and nobody said the station was going to be shut down. He feared that with budget cuts non-essential programs and services would be cut first and to ensure that the KGHP remained on air he wanted the station to become self sufficient and not depend on district funds for it's survival. To that end he did the radio marathon stunt to raise money which from what I have heard was a success.
And honestly if you are concerned enough to post a sky is falling thread here with a link to a story most of us all have read, why not go the extra mile and send KGHP a donation, that's called helping...
