KGO axes 7live

I'm not surprised. I like Copeland and Bermudez - though I think Brian's strength is really as a serious talk host and raconteur of sorts (thinking of his one-man shows on stage) - he was a bit wasted as host of a light and breezy afternoon feature show.

Speaking for myself only - in this day of DVRs, 200 channels, On Demand, and great original dramas on cable channels - it takes a lot for me to watch a local daytime talk show. My standards have gotten higher since I have so many options. I'm rarely even home at that hour, but I managed to watch 7 Live 2 or 3 times. Being polite - it was NOT compelling television.

Copeland seemed to always do his KGO-AM show better than his 7live show.

Exactly my point. Though he's also a comedian, his forte is serious talk, not recipes and features about consumer goods. I have not seen his one-man stage shows, but I've heard they are terrific. His most recent show, called The Waiting Period is about his struggle with depression, and has gotten rave critical reviews.
