KGO Network News Clock changes?

I haven't read so many posts from so many smart-A$$es on this sight ever! David, TheBigA and David E get over yourselves already.

Wow...who woke up on the wrong side of the bed today?

It's a radio discussion board. We discuss radio.

And I agree that AM is dead, and whatever Cumulus puts on KGO doesn't matter one bit except to the fans of the former shows.

Why pick on me? I said nothing about any news clock changes. The only comments I have or may have made about the new KGO were about audio quality, and perhaps a comment or two about management's intent. A moment ago I brought up a new topic, age discrimination.

Uh, YOU are the one who calls himself "RadioStarOne". Seems like a bit of ego to me. Neither DE nor I have called ourselves radio stars or boss DJs or anything like that.

News stations in Northern California, 560 KSFO, 650 KSTE, KFBK AM & FM, KCBS AM & FM, KGO-AM Talk about OVERKILL! Please add to the list any that I've left out.

Of the stations mentioned, only KCBS AM/FM, and now maybe KGO, can correctly be called news stations. Bloviating talk shows are not journalism, no matter what they call themselves.

So what does this have to do with KGO?

Nothing ... in this case. You were mentioning Philadelphia and Washington. In Philly, it's easy for CBS to run the old Westinghouse "Give us 22 minutes ... we'll give you the world" format, like WINS versus WCBS and KFWB vs. KNX. They own both KYW and WPHT in Philly, as you know and those news duos in other markets.

In the DC case, unlike Clear Channel often does with Premier programming ... CBS won't take the network away from the top billing station in the nation and the top one for Washington. They gave up ownership of WTOP years and years ago. So, it will be CBS and "you give us the world" in Washington going against itself in some ways, but without the luxury of owning the station that runs its namesake, simply my take and opinion. Two separate stations, two separate owners. But I see your point.

CBS also cannot poach the CBS affiliation from WTOP because that responsibility is now held by Dial Global, which also maintains distribution and ad sales for the "CBS Radio Network." While WNEW-FM has the CBS Eye emblazoned on their new logo, I still expect them to take an ABC affiliation of some sort (ABC-Entertainment?).

It also has been assumed for years that CBS has lusted over WTOP, and has thought of reacquiring it. They still could be, for all we know.
