KGO: Yet Another "Big Announcement" Coming?

We went through this a few months ago ... so let's pass around the salt shaker and each take a few grains.

In the ba.broadcast Usenet group, a post notes:

Ronn will be joined by Gene Burns (and maybe others) at 9:05am on Monday June 1st for an "announcement". My guess is this will name the permanent 10pm to 1:00am host.

Yeah, last time it was a world-shaking announcement that they had installed solar panels at the Dumbarton transmitter plant. This time, it may be equally benign, as noted in a subsequent post in the group:

Nope, they will be announcing the introduction on their website of live streaming video of all the hosts as well as cams featuring the various guests.
 
I heard Gene mention this last night. I guess my question is: what is the significance of Gene calling in to the Ronn Owens show to make the announcement? One can assume that this affects Gene and Ronn somehow...live streaming audio/video would affect all talk show hosts.

Maybe they'll finally announce John Rothman as the permanent 10pm-1am host. ;)
 
It's actually Bernie Ward. I heard they were installing an ISDN line in his cell.

Wow you folks are very GOOD....BTW, one of you might be on the mark, then again, maybe not.

Whatever KGO is going to do, it is long overdue...The promos will start on Monday too, after the annoucement, But, you'll just have to wait.

I've heard via an authoritative source that the "Big Announcement" is not that big. Ronn and Gene are going to announce that another "KGO All Star" thing is planned where all the hosts do a simultaneous broadcast. Hosts likely include Ronn Owens, Gene Burns, Gil Gross and John Rothmann. There are my few grains. I'm now passing the salt shaker!

If that's the "big announcement" and it seems likely, it'll be a big yawn without Christine Craft in there to shake things up. I'm tired of listening to politics unless I'm hearing truly fresh perspectives. And while I agree politically with everyone on the list much of the time, with a few minor disagreements here and there, none of the Big 4 have said anything particularly fresh in ages.
 
You're kidding...Christine Crap on the 10-1 slot? I just got used to listening from time to time during that time period. (Lost interest during eight years of Bernie Ward anti-Bush rap - and I'm by no means a Bush supporter.)
Of course, Christine IS a lawyer - as she points out several times during each broadcast.
Now John Rothman - there's a great candidate for the job.
