...actually got approval from the FCC. This authorizes them to increase their power from 1kW to 3kW, which frankly isn't much, but here's the really shocking part in case you hadn't heard about it. The application that got approved is essentially the same one that got instated back in '05, having first been filed in 1987. That's not a misprint.
Originally KGOL had filed for higher power, coupled with a change for a dual-city license from Humble to Humble-South Houston. The dual-COL plan was dropped and the planned power level went from 5kW to 4.7 and now down to 3, but the fact that it was actually approved after all these years is pretty amazing.
