KGOL A NO SHOW

The station has gone through many formats. One cannot expect success in one PPM. How much promotion does the station engage? KNTH suffers from the same problem and we've had the same format since December 2004. We have no advertising and virtually no promotion. I still run into people who have lived here for many years and have just now found us.

No promotion and no visibility does not help. It makes it a long road to climb. You are expecting too much.

Agreed. It also doesn't help being on AM in a market that uses the dying band even less than the anemic average. Houston has the second lowest AM usage out of the top 10 markets.

Might help if they would MOD-U-LATE the transmitter (which is at least a DX-50 IIRC). Drove through HOU on Monday morning and the 1180 sound was definitely less-than-robusto.

OTOH... Chuck, the 3,671 towers out at the 1070 DA were putting out a fine signal for Dr. Bennett's show. Sounded great, keep it up.

Kind of like KGOW's day site. The night site is as loud as the others, but you have to reach for the volume knob during the day.
