kgou and prairie home

Is Oklahoma City the largest market in America without A Prairie Home Companion? Is it a money issue that they don't have it?
Also, why is KGOU in the commercial end of the spectrum?

Not sure about the Prairie Home. Didn't KCSC in Edmond carry it at one time?

As for KGOU and KROU on the commercial band. Fair or not, non-commercial stations can be on the "commercial" band while commercial stations can't be on the "non-commercial band" (87.5-91.9).

KGOU actually started as a commercial rock station operated by the University of Oklahoma. That's probably why it is where it is on the dial. They added simulcast partner KROU (105.7) in the 80s for northeast OKC.

KCSC definitely carried PHC while I lived in Norman in the mid-90s whereas KGOU did not. KGOU still has a commercial allocation and could flip if the trustees so decided, but KROU couldn't as 105.7 is designated non-comm.

Doesn't KOSU carry the Prairie Home Companion? With 100,000 watts and an antenna just noth of OKC, one shouldn't have much of a problem.
