I noticed it sounds louder and better. Did they upgrade? Although 105.7 sounds like a tin can whatever they did to 106.3 needs to be done to 105.7 at this point 106.3 sounds better then KOSU
It's probably because they have a new engineer over there now.
Patrick who used to work at Renda Broadcasting is now Chief over
at KGOU. He's the man & that's the reason it sounds better.
Comparing KOSU to KGOU/KROU is almost like comparing KATT to KRXO these days. KOSU runs a hybrid classical music AND NPR, while KGOU mainly concentrates on talk. KOSU sounds fantastic not only on analog, but also on digital. Dan is one of public radio's best and it shows.
Now if they could move the station over to a non-commercial frequency and let another owner take over either 105.7 and 106.3. But since there's no non-commercial frequency available around OKC I guess there's no chance of that happening anytime soon
Yeah... If memory serves me right radio didn't suck nearly as bad when big companies were limited to just a couple of stations per market. People seem worried about the sat guys merging. I'm worried about how anti-consumer having 8 radio stations under one roof is. It's certainly NOT in the public's intrest.
